History of hotel

Hotel "Moscow" in St.Petersburg was built on Alex.Nevsky square in 1976. The building is situated on the Neva river embankment near the Nevsky prospect opposite the Alex.Nevsky Lavra. In no time this hotel becomes one of most famous and respectable hotels in the city and statewide, a "greeting card of russian hospitality".

Since 2005 the main building was being heavily reconstructed and in 2007 hotel "Moscow" finally acquired its new and modern look. In February, 2008 Hotel "Moscow" has obtained the Certificate of Conformity of a Category of 4 Stars ****.

Many classes of famous guests, such as politicans, theatrical and movie stars, businessmen all liked to stay in our hotel. The participants of St.Petersburg International Economic Forum are also became our permanent guests. During 2008 with movie festival "Vivat, Russia" our conference and banquet halls held programme and business events, and the hotel welcomed participants and guests of that forum.

Thanks to great transport conditions and location our guests can reach the most of city sights in 15 minutes, and it takes 10 minutes to get to Moskovsky and Ladozhsky stations.

As a historical anecdote comes that story: since 1923 till 1953 the Alex.Nevsky square was named Krasnaya (aka Red Square). That historical fact made a base for further jokes: "they have Red Square in Moscow and a Moscow on Red Square in St.Petersburg".
